Our Story
We started Geared Up because bad merch was everywhere.
You know the kind. The polyester polo nobody wants to wear. The tote bag that splits on the way home from the event. The jacket with the logo so big it looks like a sponsorship, not a uniform. It ends up in the back of the closet - or worse, the landfill - and it does nothing for the brand it was supposed to represent.
We built Geared Up to fix that.
Born out of our experience as clients. Built for everyone.
We started as clients - trying to source branded spirit wear for kids' teams and branded uniforms for a family business. What we discovered quickly was that most suppliers weren't interested in helping us select well — they were interested in moving volume.
So we started doing it ourselves. We researched products, developed supplier relationships, learned about decoration methods, and built a process that consistently produced gear people were actually proud to wear. The feedback from kids, parents, coaches and staff was different. People were wearing the jackets on weekends. They were showing up to work in the gear because they wanted to, not because they had to.
That's when we knew there was a business here — and that other organisations deserved the same experience.
A small team with strong opinions about gear.
Geared Up is a woman-owned small business based in Toronto. We work with clients across the city and beyond - youth sports leagues, independent schools, automotive groups, corporate teams and anyone else who cares about how their brand looks on a garment or product.
We are proudly local, proudly Canadian, and proudly opinionated about the products we recommend.
We are consultants, not order-takers
The difference between a merchandise vendor and Geared Up is simple: we will tell you when something isn't right. If the product you've chosen won't hold up, won't photograph well, or won't feel premium enough for what you're paying — we'll say so, and we'll show you something better.
Our reputation depends on you being proud of what arrives at your door. That's a pretty good incentive to get it right.
What we stand for
Quality over quantity
Six jackets your team reaches for every day are worth more than sixty that live in a storage room. We'd rather help you buy fewer, better things.
Design with intention
A logo that's too big, in the wrong place, in the wrong colour, on the wrong product will work against your brand. We know the difference between branding and decorating — and we'll make sure you get the former.
Gear worth keeping
If it ends up in a landfill after two uses, we've both wasted money and contributed to a problem. Premium quality isn't the expensive option — cheap gear that nobody uses is.
"We only recommend gear we'd wear ourselves. That hasn't changed since day one."
